The Foundations of Savvy Searching
Have you ever wondered how some people can find information so quickly? Savvy searchers know how to ask answerable questions and how to select the best resource(s) according to need. This interactive session introduces you to essential searching concepts: subject headings, combining searches and filtering. You'll learn the difference between asking a background vs. a foreground question, discover useful tools to define your key search concepts and gain experience using popular library databases including ClinicalKey and PubMed.
This session lays the groundwork for enhancing your skill set with sessions focused on specific resources, such as PubMed Essentials, Taking Control of PubMed with Fields and Filters, and Grey Literature & Google.
