PT & OT Deep Dive into PubMed

PT & OT Deep Dive into PubMed Online

This session will cover in-depth and strategic searching using PubMed’s new interface. Following a step-by-step process, you’ll learn how to increase the relevancy of your results and gain more confidence with using PubMed to identify studies relevant to physiotherapy and occupational therapy contexts. The session will be hands-on and will feature examples relevant to your context as a physiotherapist/occupational therapist.

Learning outcomes:

  • Identify key concepts relevant to a specific search question
  • Translate key concepts to appropriate Medical Subject Headings (MeSH)
  • Run searches using field codes (e.g. Title/Abstract)
  • Combine searches with OR to increase results, AND to decrease results
  • Apply filters to narrow results
  • Manipulate presentation of search results to view abstract and full-text options
  • Collect relevant articles
