Using Isabel to Support Diagnostic Decision-Making

Using Isabel to Support Diagnostic Decision-Making Online

Point-of-care tools are a handy, evidence-based starting point for health care providers who need to find information quickly to support patient care. This hands-on session will be an introduction to Isabel, a point-of-care tool that supports diagnostic decision-making. Isabel allows you to enter symptoms and clinical features for a rapid list of possible diagnoses, and links to guidelines, textbooks, and other relevant health evidence. When a diagnosis is unclear, Isabel can help you narrow down the possibilities and confirm your current thinking.

Learning objectives:

  • Recognize when to use and how to access Isabel
  • Identify relevant evidence based on a patient’s symptoms and clinical features
  • Locate support for mobile applications and resources

Recommended for: Physicians, Nurse Practitioners and other direct care providers looking to incorporate evidence-based tools into practice.
