Get the most from your literature search request Online
Do you need help finding best evidence on a particular research topic? Library Services offers a literature search service for all Nova Scotia Health employees. Before submitting your request there are some helpful tips to consider:
- Is your research question formulated and concise?
- Would a consultation with a Library team member help clarify the process?
- Do you have an appropriate deadline date selected based on the urgency of the information?
- Are you submitting the appropriate number of requests at one time?
- Have you written out any medical acronyms that might be in your topic/research question?
Join me in this session, where we will discuss all the above questions and more, ensuring a seamless literature search request experience.

- Navigate comfortably through the request form and the different information fields required
- Learn how to book a consultation with a Library team member to discuss your research needs
- Gain knowledge on deadline dates for evidence-based literature

- An audio output device connected (headphones or speakers) to be able to hear the instructor
- If you do not have an audio input device (webcam or microphone), you may type in the chat window
- Experience using chat
- Experience copying/pasting text and URLs

You can join the Teams meeting on your computer or mobile app using the URL you will receive in the Confirmation and Reminder emails.
You can join a Teams meeting whether or not you have a Teams account. If you don't have an account, follow these steps to join as a 'Guest':
- Paste the Teams meeting link into a Microsoft Edge or Google Chrome browser address bar
- On the web page that opens, select Continue on this browser
- Enter your name and choose your audio/video settings
- Click Join now
