Description:
This session introduces PsychiatryOnline, a comprehensive platform from the American Psychiatric Association, and the Treatments That Work series, a collection of practical, evidence-based treatment manuals and patient workbooks grounded in cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) and other proven interventions. Participants will learn how to efficiently locate and search these resources, access clinical guidelines and treatment manuals, and identify reliable information to support clinical practice, education, and research.
Learning Outcomes:
By the end of this session, participants will be able to:
- Navigate the PsychiatryOnline platform to locate psychiatric textbooks, journals, clinical guidelines, and DSM resources.
- Search and access titles within the Treatments That Work series through the library.
- Identify evidence-based treatment manuals and patient workbooks appropriate for common mental health conditions.
Recommended for: All Nova Scotia staff, physicians and/or researchers looking for an introduction to Mental Health and Addictions information sources.
