SUMMARY:Evaluating Information: Can I trust this source?
DESCRIPTION:Please note: This event will use Microsoft Teams\n\nNow more
than ever\, the ability to examine information sources carefully and
systematically is important. \n\nHow do we assess the content in published
research (academic literature) and online (grey literature) to gage its
value\, relevance\, and trustworthiness? \n\nJoin me in this session to
explore what critical appraisal is and why it is important. We will cover
critical appraisal tools that can be incorporated into your research
process\, to help appraise academic literature and grey literature
systematically and effectively. \n\nLearning Objectives:\n\n\n	Understand
what critical appraisal is and why it’s important\n	Distinguish between
academic literature and grey literature\n	Identify how critical appraisal
can be incorporated into your research process\n	Select the appropriate
evaluation tool based on the information source – academic literature vs.
grey literature\n\n\nRecommended for: All Nova Scotia staff\, physicians
and/or researchers looking for an introduction or needing a refresher on
 evaluating information sources.
